| Why did you choose to attend the SENSORS program? |
With the broad goal of gaining research and lab experience in mind, I was drawn to the SENSORS program for its fascinating research focus opportunities that were offered, especially concerning the promise of completing construction and testing of a bio-sensor. Also, the balance offered by ethics and safety lectures in addition to lab experience was quite attractive as well. |
| Who are you working with, and what research are you doing? |
I am working with Dr. Moses Noh and his graduate student, Temitope Sodunke, doing BioMEMS research and building lab-on-a-chip devices that would aid pharmacological studies in ascertaining working drugs that would prevent study breast cancer metastasis (i.e. cancer invasion). |
| What are your goals/aspirations for the future? |
My short term goals are to continue doing research throughout my senior year, working with different professors in order to gauge post-graduation interests, and go to grad school for Biomedical Engineering once I do complete my undergraduate studies. Currently, my career goal is to work as a rehabilitation engineer, building assistive technology devices for individuals with long-term disabilities. |
