What school are you currently attending? Drexel University
What year will you be starting in the fall? Senior
Why did you choose to attend the SENSORS program? This program seemed like a perfect opportunity for me to continue my research here at Drexel. This program has proved to be invaluable in preparing me for my next step onto grad. school.
Who are you working with, and what research are you doing? I am working with Caroline Schauer making thin films for heavy metal detection. During this summer, I have been working on chitosan, alginate, and hyaluronic acid films specifically. To characterize interactions, I have been using UV/Visible Spectroscopy, elipsometry, FTIR, and Raman mainly.
What are your goals/aspirations for the future? I have intentions of continuing on to grad. school, more than likely getting a masters here at Drexel.
