Q: What is your name?
A: Dan Berrigan
Q: What school are you currently attending?
A: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Q: What year will you be starting in the fall?
A: Junior year.
Q: Why did you choose to attend the DREAM program?
A: I saw it as a great opportunity to get experience in a lab doing work that hopefully one day will make an impact.
Q: Who are you working with, and what research are you doing?
A: I am working with Dr. Yury Gogotsi and grad student John Chmiola. My job is to increase the power stored in super-capacitors by decreasing the resistance in the carbon electrodes.
Q: What are your goals/aspirations for the future?
A: I’ve always thought it would be great to work in the space program somehow, but if that doesn’t happen, I just want a job where I can take what I’ve learned about materials and apply it to solve some of the larger engineering problems in the world.
