Q: What is your name?
A: Christina Pina
Q: What school are you currently attending?
A: University of Texas at El Paso
Q: What year will you be starting in the fall?
A: I will be on a coop this fall, but in the spring I will be starting the 2nd semester of my junior year.
Q: Why did you choose to attend the DREAM program?
A: The REU programs not only offer a chance to experience life in different cities but it also helps you to see how the faculties at schools interact with the students. Plus and most importantly it has given me a new perspective on my major, because the research done at all schools is so different.
Q: Who are you working with, and what research are you doing?
A: I worked with Dr. Zavaliangos, using the micro computer tomography machine. Because it's a new machine, so my project was to test its limits.
Q: What are your goals/aspirations for the future?
A: Short term: Finish school and my coops; Long term: Work doing research somewhere, not sure whether a national lab or University is the right setting for me yet.
