Q: What is your name?
A: Steven Michael Elliott

Q: What school are you currently attending?
A: Vanderbilt University

Q: What year will you be starting in the fall?
A: Junior

Q: Why did you choose to attend the DREAM program?
A: The DREAM program offers much more than research alone. This dimensionality and the perspective offered along with the focus on materials were the main reasons I chose to apply to DREAM.

Q: Who are you working with, and what research are you doing?
A: I have been designing mechanical testing devices and programs which will be used in characterizing biological tissues, especially porcine carotid artery. I work in Dr. Franco Capaldi’s lab.

Q: What are your goals/aspirations for the future?
A: After earning a degree in Chemical Engineering, I plan to attend graduate school in the same field, earning a Ph. D., with which I hope either to do corporate research or enter into academics.
