William Rosebrook
Interview
Q: What is your name?
A: William R. Rosebrook
Q: What school are you currently attending?
A: I currently attend Drexel University.
Q: What year will you be starting in the fall?
A: I will be a freshman this fall (as a non-traditional transfer student) in Materials Science & Engineering.
Q: Why did you choose to attend the DREAM program?
A: I wanted the research experience I could receive from the Drexel Nanotechnology Institute (DNI) knowing that it is currently one of the best nanotechnology programs in the country!
Q: Who are you working with, and what research are you doing?
A: I am working with Cristelle Portet, Ph.D. performing research on gas (hydrogen, methane) storage for the Nanomaterials Group (NMG) under the advisement of Prof. Yury Gogotsi. More specifically, I am working with carbide derived carbons (CDCs) with changeable porosity measuring hydrogen gas adsorption using Drexel’s Sieverts apparatus.
Q: What are your goals/aspirations for the future?
A: After earning a bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering I will attend graduate school, pursuing a plan of study involving Nanomaterials with a focus on alternative energy research. I envision myself starting in a national laboratory before transitioning to either the academic or private sector with an ultimate goal of working in the human spaceflight and exploration program.
