September, 2005: Varun Gupta received Best Poster Award at
20th Annual Technical Conference of American Society for Composites
Varun Gupta won 1st
Prize for his poster titled 'Thermally Sprayed Multi-Scale
Polymer/Ceramic Composite Coatings' at American Society for Composites,
20th Annual Technical Conference, September 7-9, 2005 held in
Philadelphia. The poster was co-authored by Milan Ivosevic, Richard A. Craincross, Thomas E. Twardowski and Richard Knight.

Conference: Society for the Advancement of Material and Process
Engineering (SAMPE 2004), Drexel Materials Science &
Eng. students
came away with prizes from National Student Symposium which was a
part of the SAMPE conference 2004 held in Long Beach, CA, May
16th-20th. In the Ph.D. division, second and third places were taken by
Jason Lyons and Milan Ivosevic, from Drexel respectively. |

as a Fellow of ASM International (FASM) in 2003.

2004-2006. |
Mr. Jeremy Baldoni, Duke University, Durham (NC)
visited Drexel University as a DREAM Fellow during the summer
of 2005 and worked on his project "Analysis of Thermally
Sprayed Nylon Splats" under the supervision of Dr. Richard
Knight and Dr. Richard A. Cairncross. Mr. Milan Ivosevic and
Mr. Varun Gupta served as mentors during Mr. Baldoni's stay at
Drexel. |
