The Defense University Research Instrumentation Program (DURIP) proposal submitted by Surya Kalidindi (PI), Michel Barsoum, Yury Gogotsi, and Slava Domnich entitled, "Acquisition of a Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope Equipped with Wavelength Dispersive X-Ray and Raman Spectrometers" will be funded at $155,230. This is an equipment grant and will help to acquire a state of the art microscope to further enhance our materials research capabilities, especially in the nanotechnology area. This acquisition is also important as we launch the centralized materials characterization facility from the new Bossone Research Enterprise Center.
