Dee Breger Wins First Prize in Microscopy Competition

Dee Breger, Director of Microscopy in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, has been awarded first prize for her micrograph entitled, "Penguin Feather," in the "Electron Microscopy - Life Sciences" category of a micrograph competition exhibited at the recent MicroScience 2004 conference held in London on July 6-8, sponsored by the Royal Microscopical Society. As the first prize winner, she will receive a Leica D-LUX Digital camera donated by Leica. The winning entries will be reproduced in the leading magazine, G.I.T. Imaging and Microscopy, and the magazine will also publish a selection of images in all its pre-show issues next year.
