At this year's annual Drexel University and College of Engineering Engineer of the Year Banquet, Dr. Yury Gogotsi, professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and director of the A. J. Drexel Nanotechnology Insitute, and Dee Breger, Director of Microscopy in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, were honored for their contributions to Drexel and to their fields. Dr. Yury Gogotsi received the Faculty Research Award for his outstanding contributions to nanotechnology research. Dee Breger received the Technical Staff award for her important work in micrography and microscopy. The awards ceremony also honored Dr. Mark Adler, Mars Exploration Program Architect and Rover Mission Manager at NASA-JPL, as Engineer of the Year. The awards ceremony took place on Friday, February 25, 2005 at the Union League in Philadelphia.
