Drexel University Hosts American Society for Composites 20th Annual Technical Conference

Drexel University is hosting the American Society for Composites 20th Annual Technical Conference, September 7-9, 2005, also the 20th anniversary of the society. The conference will focus on nanocomposites, biocomposites, and their applications and includes five concurrent sessions with plenary lectures on the future of aircraft composites, automobile composites, and composite education. There will also be a poster contest and scholarships available for students.

A specicial Symposium on Composite mechanics will be organized in honor of Professor Albert Wang, Emeritus professor of mechanical engineering and mechanics, for his 40 years of contributions to the advancement of composites.

The conference is being organized by Department of Materials Science and Engineering professors Dr. Frank Ko and Dr. Yury Gogotsi and Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering department head Dr. Giuseppe Palmese.
