Matthew Cathell Selected as a 2005-2006 Koerner Family Fellow

Published on Saturday October 1, 2005

Congratulations to Matthew Cathell, Ph.D. student in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, (advisor: Caroline Schauer) who has been chosen as a Koerner Famly Fellow for the academic year 2005-2006. The fellowships specify that award recipients must be studying toward a Ph.D. with a high likelihood of seeking an academic career upon graduation. The Koerner family established the fellowships in honor of their many years of association with the University. Dr. Robert M. Koerner '56 '63, H. L. Bowman Professor of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering, his wife Paula, and their children-George, Michael, and Pauline-have accumulated four bachelor degrees, two master's degrees, and a Ph.D. degree from Drexel, where collectively they have been employed and educated for ninety years.
