The Department of Materials Science and Engineering has received a donation of a brand new Semi-Automatic Ultra-High Purity Gas Cabinet valued at $20,000 from Applied Energy Systems, Inc. The donation was made possible by the generosity of company President Steve Buerkel (MBA, LCoB, 1981).

The cabinet has been installed in Drexel University's new Bossone Research Enterprise Center and will be used for handling hydrogen and other gases.

Applied Energy Systems, Inc., founded in 1968, designs and manufactures specialty gas equipment, as well as tests and installs ultra high purity gas handling systems. President Buerkel has a B.S. in engineering from Case Western University and an MBA from Drexel, which he received in 1981.

The department is grateful to President Buerkel for this invaluable donation.
