Drs. Wei Sun, Associate Professor, MEM (PI), Ken Barbee, Professor, Biomed (Co-PI) and Michele Marcolongo, Associate Professor, MSE (Co-PI) were recently awarded funding from the National Science Foundation for their project entitled, “Study Bio-Deposition Induced Effect on Living Cells.”
This grant provides funding for research and development of a scientific and engineering knowledge base for studying the effect of bio-deposition process on living cells. If successful, this project will lead to developing new techniques and tools that help the advancement of emerging cell-based bio-fabrication for broad applications in therapeutic products, biochips, biosensors, and microfluidic systems. This grant is a 3-year project with a budget of $225K.
