Dr. Yury Gogotsi, Director of the A.J. Drexel Nanotechnology Institute and and Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, recently received an award from the Office of Naval Research/NAVSEA for his project entitled, “Filling Carbon Nanotubes with Metal Nanoparticles.” In this program, methods for filling carbon nanotubes will be developed with a variety of metal nanoparticles with the size ranging from 2 to 30 nm. This work will be performed in collaboration with the Indian Head Division of the Naval Surface Warfare Center. The budget for this one-year project is $100,000.
