Mike Birnkrant and Matt Hood (advisor: Christopher Li) each recently received a $500 travel award to attend the North American Thermal Analysis Society (NATAS) annual conference.
The 35th annual conference was held at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center at Michigan State University from August 26 to August 29. Conference participants had the opportunity to learn the latest advancements in thermal analysis and thermal performance, as well as, discuss the subject with experts in the thermal analysis field. The conference was composed of short courses and technical sessions featuring more than 200 papers detailing the latest developments in thermal science and advances in instrumentation. A Collegiate Poster Competition was also held, in which Birnkrant received honorable mention for his poster.
The North American Thermal Analysis Society is dedicated to promoting the understanding and advancement of thermal analysis. Since its inception in 1968, the society has represented the interests of thousands of scientists, academicians, physicists, chemists, technicians and engineers alike and all major instrument vendors.
