Ph.D. Student and Advisor Receive Grant

A proposal written by Jennifer S. Atchison, Ph.D. student in Materials Science & Engineering and her advisor, Dr. Jonathan E. Spanier, Assistant Professor of Materials Science & Engineering (PI) entitled "Deep-depleted CCD detector for use in Raman and single-molecule spectroscopies" was selected for funding from DARPA and NSF via the Photonics Technology Access Program (PTAP).  PTAP provides pre-commercial state-of-the-art photonic devices to universities for teaching and research, and this award will provide $51,000 in state-of-the-art instrumentation in support of DoD, NSF and other projects.
