Dr. Caroline Schauer, MSE Assistant Professor (Co-PI) is the recipient of a Green Building Alliance Product Innovation Grant in the amount of $20,000 entitled “Low-Energy Luminous Surfaces: Residential Lighting Using Ceelite LEC Technology.” PI on the grant is Dr. Eugenia Victoria Ellis, Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture & Interior Design and additional Co-PI is Dr. Jin Wen, Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering. The grant was awarded in December 2007.
This grant provides funding to use CeeLite’s Light Emitting Capacitor (LEC) technology to create indoor residential lighting that simulates daylight. MSE undergraduate students Jameson Detweiler (senior) and Eric Eisele (junior) will also be working on the project.
