Chmiola Wins ECS Best Poster Award for Second Time

Ph.D. student John Chmiola (advisor: Yury Gogotsi), NSF Graduate Research and IGERT Fellow, has won the Best Student Poster Award at the 213th Meeting of The Electrochemical Society (ECS) in Phoenix, AZ in May 2008 for his poster, "Porous Carbon Films for Maximizing Supercapacitor Performance," coauthored by Professor Yury Gogotsi and French collaborators P. Simon and C. Largeot.

This is the second time Chmiola has received this award.  Previous recipient from the Nanomaterials Group includes former Ph.D. student Dr. Svetlana Dimovski, who won this award at the ECS meeting in Philadelphia in 2002.

Chmiola is featured on page 57 in the Summer 2008 edition of Interface, a publication of ECS, for receiving the award.
