Li Co-PI on NSF Grant

Published on Friday August 8, 2008

Professor Christopher Li and colleagues have been awarded a NSF grant in the amount of $329,459, “Depletion Mechanisms of Antioxidants in Polyethylene Clay Nanocomposites.”  This project aims to understand and control the long-term properties of polymer clay nanocomposites by using a variety of antioxidants.  Results of this project will complement the available knowledge on polyethylene nanocomposites by providing a fundamental understanding of the depletion mechanism of antioxidants, which governs the onset of oxidation degradation.

Professor Grace Hsuan (CAEE) serves as the PI; Li and Professor Richard Cairncross (CBE) serve as Co-PIs.
