Four materials students received Honorable Mention for the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP).
Valerie Binetti (advisor: Tony Lowman), Amanda Levinson (advisor: Surya Kalidindi), Amalie Oroho (advisor: Ulrike Wegst), and Christopher Winkler (advisor: Mitra Taheri) all received Honorable Mention for the highly competitive fellowship.
The NSF GRFP aims to increase U.S. human capital in the area of science and engineering by providing funding for graduate studies in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields.
A total of six Drexel MSE students have received the fellowship to date. They include BS/MS student Holly McIlwee (advisor: Caroline Schauer), Ph.D. student in MEM and former MS student in MSE Alex Moseson (advisor: Michel Barsoum), and Ph.D. students Stephen Niezgoda (advisor: Surya Kalidindi), Kris Behler (advisor: Yury Gogotsi), María Pía Rossi (advisor: Yury Gogotsi), and John Chmiola (advisor: Yury Gogotsi).
