Biomed Ph.D. Student Sumona Sarkar Receives Student Paper Award at ISSIB-II

Biomedical Engineering Ph.D. student Sumona Sarkar (advisor: Michele Marcolongo) is a recipient of the Best Student Paper Silver Award for her paper presented at the  2nd International Symposium on Surface and Interface of Biomaterials (ISSIB-II), which took place in Hong Kong, January 4-6, 2010.

Tied for second place, Sumona received $250 and a certificate for "Chondroitin Sulfate Immobilization for the Fabrication of Biomimetic Brush Structures."  She was the only award winner from a university outside of Asia.
