MSE Students Win Poster Awards at Drexel University Research Day 2010

Two MSE students have won poster awards at Drexel University Research Day 2010.

MSE B.S./M.S. student Matthew Herbert (advisor: Yury Gogotsi) was the only award winner in the Undergraduate Physical Science and Engineering category for his poster, "Fabrication of Multi-functional Carbon Nanotube Tipped Pipettes for Cellular Interrogation."  Co-authors include Ph.D. student Riju Singhal, Research Associate Zulfiya Orynbayeva, and Professors Gary Friedman and Yury Gogotsi.

In the Graduate Physical Science and Engineering category, Ph.D. student Jerry Klinzing (advisor:  Antonios Zavaliangos) was one of only two award winners.  His award-winning poster is entitled, "Understanding the Effect of Humidity on the Structural Integrity of Bilayer Pharmaceutical Tablets."

Research day took place Thursday, April 15, 2010 in the Daskalakis Athletic Center at 33rd and Market Streets.
