Professor Michele Marcolongo, Associate Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and Associate Dean for Intellectual Property Development in the College of Engineering, has been selected to participate in the Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine® (ELAM®) Program for Women. ELAM is a core program of the Institute for Women's Health and Leadership® at Drexel University College of Medicine and the only national program dedicated to preparing senior women faculty for leadership at academic health centers.
Marcolongo is one of 54 senior women faculty selected from elite institutions from around the country and is part of thet 16th class of fellows. As a part of the program, Marcolongo will participate in three week-long in-residence sessions and will learn skills in executive management and institutional leadership. The program's mission is to increase the number of women in senior academic leadership positions.
