Ph.D. Student Christopher Winkler Awarded 2011 MSA Presidential Student Award

Ph.D. student Christopher Winkler (advisor: Mitra Taheri) has been awarded a 2011 Microscopy Society of America (MSA) Presidential Student Award for his research on in situ transmission electron microscopy of multiferroic bismuth ferrite thin film composites.

Chris is one of only 17 students selected from a pool of over 175 applicants. Chris will be presented with the award during the Opening Plenary Session at the Microscopy and Microanalysis (M&M) 2011 Conference on Monday, August 8 in Nashville, TN.  The award includes full registration to M&M, as well as housing, travel, and an invitation to the Presidential Reception.
