The article discusses breakthroughs into integrating energy storage into flexible fabrics, such as woven cotton and polyester. Gogotsi and his group have integrated porous carbon powders into these fabrics, providing 400-700 the amount of energy storage over attempts previously reported in the literature. This type of energy storage also has the advantage of being flexible and non-toxic.
