NSF Research Experience for Teachers (RET)
This five-week Drexel RET and RET-NANO summer programs for high school teachers included hands-on research laboratory experience, professional development seminars and field trips, and the creation of curriculum materials. Teachers are selected from the Delaware Valley region. Our lab has hosted six RET teachers: Ms. Regina Storaska (RET-NANO 2004), Ms. Yvonne Henry (RET 2005), Mr. Samson Nyachwaya (RET 2005), Ms. Hilary Aumack (RET-NANO 2006), Ms. Janice Sees (RET-NANO 2006) and Ms. Patricia Blakeney-Whack (RET-NANO 2007).

Drexel Research in Advanced Materials (DREAM)
DREAM is an NSF-funded Research Experience for Undergraduates program. This ten-week summer program allows undergraduate researchers to join faculty and graduate student mentors in performing research in nanomaterials, biomaterials, and the design and processing of advanced materials. Five DREAM/REU students have performed research in our lab: Ms. Lisa Ranieri (2004), Ms. Sarah Cott (2005), Ms. Carrie Weber (2006), Mr. Daniel Sven Patrick (2007) and Ms. Jessica Thomaston (2008).http://www.materials.drexel.edu/Programs/DREAM/http://www.materials.drexel.edu/Programs/dream/Fellows/2004/LisaRanieri/http://www.materials.drexel.edu/Programs/dream/Fellows/2004/LisaRanieri/http://www.materials.drexel.edu/Programs/dream/Fellows/2006/CarrieWeber/http://www.materials.drexel.edu/Programs/dream/Fellows/2006/CarrieWeber/http://www.materials.drexel.edu/Programs/dream/Fellows/2007/Patrick.aspxshapeimage_3_link_0shapeimage_3_link_1shapeimage_3_link_2shapeimage_3_link_3shapeimage_3_link_4shapeimage_3_link_5
Drexel College of Engineering Summer Mentorship
The two week Summer Mentorship program allows visiting high school students the opportunity to perform an engineering research project, under the supervision of an engineering faculty member and graduate student mentor. Three Summer Mentorship students have participated in the program in our lab: Mr. David Sanchez (2004), Mr. Michael Kuo (2004), Ms. Jennifer Kang (2005), Ms. Lorraine Cho (2007) and Ms. Natalia Chodelski (2007).http://www.drexel.edu/coe/special/summer/mentor/shapeimage_4_link_0

SENSORS: From Design to Implementation
SENSORS is an NSF-funded Research Experience for Undergraduates program, co-directed by Dr. Schauer. This ten-week summer research program on sensors, from science to application, allows students to gain experience in hands-on sensor research through work with faculty members, field trips, research and ethics workshops and more. Six SENSORS students have performed research in our lab: Ms. Jessica Wolever (2006), Ms. Jelena Drazenovic (2007), Ms. Holly McIlwee (2007), Ms. Laura Stulga (2007), Mr. Eric Brenner (2008) and Mr. Keith Fahnestock (2008).http://www.materials.drexel.edu/Programs/SENSORS/http://www.materials.drexel.edu/Programs/SENSORS/Fellows/2006/Wolever.aspxhttp://www.materials.drexel.edu/Programs/SENSORS/Fellows/2007/Drazenovic.aspxhttp://www.materials.drexel.edu/Programs/SENSORS/Fellows/2007/Drazenovic.aspxhttp://www.materials.drexel.edu/Programs/SENSORS/Fellows/2007/McIlwee.aspxhttp://www.materials.drexel.edu/Programs/SENSORS/Fellows/2007/McIlwee.aspxhttp://www.materials.drexel.edu/Programs/sensors/Fellows/2007/Stulga.aspxshapeimage_10_link_0shapeimage_10_link_1shapeimage_10_link_2shapeimage_10_link_3shapeimage_10_link_4shapeimage_10_link_5shapeimage_10_link_6

STAR Scholars: The STAR program is a special program for academically talented students that matches Drexel University undergraduates with research faculty. The 10-week STAR program provides a means for students to get to know faculty, explore a major course of study, gain practical skills for career or graduate school, gain valuable research experience and advance science. Ms. Ebony Thompson (2008) is our first STAR student in the NPP lab.
